| Maude (left) and Esther (right) preparing to dip Buckeyes. |
Esther and her family spent a few days with mine this week. We had a lot of fun. We did some "touristy" things, some "local" things, and we just hung out. But one of the major Christmas baking projects that I hadn't finished was making Buckeyes - so Esther and I worked together to dip my peanut butter balls into chocolate.
Buckeyes are an Ohio staple (Home of the Ohio State Buckeyes football team and the state tree is the Buckeye tree). They are peanut butter balls (and butter and confectioner's sugar) dipped into chocolate (we use both semi-sweet and milk chocolate). Christmas is not Christmas in the O'Brien household without Buckeyes!

| Ahh, the Buckeyes waiting to be eaten... YUM! |
