Lord, please show my everyday as You're teaching me Your way, that You do just what You say--In Your time.
I certainly resemble the Israelites! Time after time they whined and complained that they were tired of waiting, tired of wandering. As I approach a new year it is so tempting to look toward big plans, big changes, but I need to remember to rest in the perfect plan of my Father... An unfolding that will only come in HIS omniscient schedule.
The other song is called, Jesus, All For Jesus, by Robin Mark:
All of my ambitions, hopes, and plans, I surrender these into Your hands... For it's only in Your will that I am free...Mmmm. I love that. "For it's only in Your will that I'm free." We are so easily bogged down by the lies we hear in this world. They are lies that teach us that God and His word are restrictive and imprisoning. Satan has perfected his craft. In 2012, I want to feel the joy and freedom that comes with laying down my plans, hopes, and ambitions. I want the worry and stress that accompanies them to be resting safely in the hands of the One who rotates the earth and hangs the stars. I want to focus on living in the center of His will, for this moment. I want to trust in His perfect will, and His perfect timing. After all, He knows me (and what is best for me!) better than I do myself. Why am I always trying to rush Him or tell Him how things need to be? Our God is so patient. May He give me just a tiny sliver of that fruit as I slowly learn to rest, rest, rest in Him.
