Sisters Chat (Family Introductions)

Each Friday we will post an entry in which the three of us will talk about different things. We hope that you enjoy getting to know us better.

Maude: ‬ ‪First, I thought we should introduce our families.  I know we are all planning on using nicknames to protect our husbands and kids anonymity.  I thought it might be a good idea, if possible to choose nicknames that start with the first letter of our names so people don't get them confused.  (Although I know Esther has a special nickname picked out for her son).‬
I'll go first
Let's start with our kids:
My kids are Milton (3 years old) and Maeva ( 1 year old).
Do you guys get it?
‪Lizzi: ‬ ‪yeah- I have to think about nicknames though!‬
‪Maude: ‬ ‪Esther, do you want to introduce your son?‬
‪Lizzi: ‬ ‪there aren't a lot of good boy L names :/‬
‪Esther: ‬ ‪I have a 10 month old son, Bug ‬
‪Maude: ‬ ‪Lewis,‬
Lincoln
Lester
heehee!
‪Lizzi: ‬ ‪lionel! ‬
‪Maude: ‬ ‪ritchie‬
lol
‪Lizzi: ‬ ‪haha‬‬
‪Maude: ‬ ‪For husbands...‬
I thought it would be fun if we did use a superhero nickname like we talked about
‪Esther: ‬ ‪okay‬
‪Maude: ‬ I thought it would be fun to do a superhero name with your first initial so people can keep them straight easier
How about this?
Come up with a superhero name that describes/has a funny anecdote for your husband but you Can also introduce with first name and use whichever you prefer
‪Esther: ‬ ‪his first initial or mine?‬
‪Maude: ‬ ‪Supposed to be your first initial‬
‪Esther: ‬ ‪E is not so easy
excellent egg eater?‬
‪Lizzi: ‬ ‪I thought of my boy names!‬
‪‪Lizzi: ‬ ‪Well, I actually googled names‬
‪Maude: ‬ ‪Go ahead Liz‬
‪Lizzi: ‬ ‪I have two boys. Lewis is 2 1/2, and Levi is 7 months‬
(thanks for lewis,maude)
‪Maude: ‬ ‪Great Names.‬
So we have Milton, Maeva, Lewis, Levi and Bug.  Very cute!
Now I will introduce my husband (in his superhero identity) and tell the story then you all can introduce your husbands as you see fit.
My husband is Marshmallow Man.
‪Esther: ‬ ‪haha‬
‪Maude: ‬ ‪This is because several years ago after we had spent an afternoon outside he turns to me with a compliment, "You look like a finely toasted marshmallow."‬
Well, of course, I was offended (who in their right mind wouldn't be?!)
‪He explained that I was the color of a marshmallow not the shape!  He said he hadn't meant that I was a puffy cylinder at all - just finely toasted.  I contended that if the comment was my coloring why wasn't I compared to sand or something like that?‬
‪Lizzi: ‬ ‪haha‬
‪Maude: ‬ ‪We still joke about that comment although it really is just one in a LONG string of poorly worded compliments/comments!  So he has earned the title of Marshmallow Man!‬
‪Lizzi: ‬ ‪That's great!‬
‪Esther: ‬ ‪I love it!‬
‪Maude: ‬ ‪Lizzi - do you have one?  Or Esther are you ready?  Remember you don't have to use this if you chose to go by his real name I just thought it would be a fun exercise and a fun way to refer to our husbands on our blog‬
They are our superheroes you know!!!
‪Lizzi: ‬ ‪True! I think L and E are both hard names to come up with though‬
hmmm
‪Maude: ‬ ‪Yes.  M is easy!‬
Sorry ladies!
I'll try to come up with something too...
‪Lizzi: ‬ ‪maybe if we didn't stick with our letters for them?‬
‪Maude: ‬ ‪That's fine‬
Lizard, Lollypop, Lightning,
Mr. Lightning
‪Lizzi: ‬ ‪Lightening Lad‬?
‪Maude: ‬ ‪heehee!‬
I like it!
‪Lizzi: ‬ ‪Is that too little boyish?‬
‪Maude: ‬ ‪I don't think so‬
Loch Ness
Liquid Lightning
‪Lizzi: ‬ ‪essie- do you have anything with E?
‪Esther: ‬ ‪umm...‬
‪Lizzi: ‬ ‪ooh. I think i will try for something with l‬
‪Maude: ‬ ‪Elephant, Elevation, Exercise,‬
‪Lizzi: ‬ ‪thinking...‬
‪Maude: ‬ ‪Ectoplasm‬
Edison,
Endearing
‪Esther: ‬ ‪I don't even know what that means‬
‪Maude: ‬ ‪Ectoplasm?  It is the goo left behind by supernatural creatures (ghosts) in Ghostbusters and other silly paranormal comedy stories‬ (like Just Like Heaven)
‪‪Esther: ‬ ‪nice‬
‪Maude: ‬ ‪I don't know if it is something people who really believe in that stuff really believes in though‬
I've just heard it mentioned in movies
Ectomplasm Eddie
‪Esther: ‬ ‪Eager Eater Eddie‬
‪Maude: ‬ ‪heehee!‬
cute!
Is that where Bug gets it?
‪Esther: ‬ ‪Yes!‬
‪Maude: ‬ ‪Any more thoughts on this?
Longhorn Jack, Liz!
Maude: ‬ ‪It doesn't have to be Jack though but I like Longhorn!‬
‪Lizzi: ‬ ‪I was thinking something with lightning, lion, I don't know‬
Maude: ‬ ‪That reminds me of Foghorn (a rooster we had growing up)!‬
I didn't think of Lion!
‪Esther: ‬ ‪Egghead. Because he is smart and likes reading, doing math, and learning languages?‬
Mr. Egghead
‪Lizzi: ‬ ‪heheh‬
I like it!
Maude: ‬ ‪That's great, Esther!
Does he also like eating eggs?
‪Esther: ‬ ‪he does!‬
Maude: ‬ ‪Sounds like a perfect superhero name to me!!
‪Esther: ‬ ‪I think I will keep it‬
‪Maude: ‬ ‪Maybe next week we can design their costumes!‬
‪Lizzi: ‬ ‪mr. egghead?‬
‪Esther: ‬ ‪I mean, he is the man who reads math books for fun!‬
Crazy!
‪Lizzi: ‬ ‪What about something the lionhearted?‬
Maude: ‬ ‪Oohh I like it Liz‬!
‪Lizzi: ‬ ‪What would go in the first place? or is that stealing?‬
‪Maude: ‬ ‪We can help!  That's what sisters do!‬
‪Lizzi: ‬ ‪Lucky the Lionhearted‬
‪Maude: ‬ ‪I was thinking Lionhearted should be first.‬
‪Lizzi: ‬ ‪oh!‬
‪Maude: ‬ ‪Lionhearted (oh dear I just thought of something that I'm not sure I should say....)‬
blushing....
‪Lizzi: ‬ ‪lover?‬
hahha
‪Maude: ‬ ‪you guessed it!!  oh my goodness!‬
‪Lizzi: ‬ ‪I think he would be embarrassed‬
Maude: ‬ ‪I certainly would be!!!!!!!!!‬
‪Lizzi: ‬ ‪I guess esther has her name and description?‬
I feel like I still need to tweak mine
Maude: ‬ ‪I was thinking Lovable would be nice somewhere because of your nickname, Liz‬
but I guess a guy wouldn't want that for his superhero name‬
‪Esther: ‬ ‪I am not sure I want to just refer to my husband as "egghead" throughout the entire blog.‬
‪‪Lizzi: ‬ ‪haha, es‬
yeah, I don't know maude
‪Maude: ‬ ‪Maybe we should do a name with the superhero name (like Eddie for Es)‬
Then we can shorten it to that
if we want
Marshmallow Melvin
Lionhearted Lester
Egghead Eddie
Edwin
‪Esther: ‬ ‪But, since we are both fine with calling him by his real name I can still use that when I am saying. I have such a great husband and name him rather then say I have such a great husband "egghead"‬
Maude: ‬ ‪But Egghead makes me giggle!‬
Like I said you don't have to use it but I think I will
Partly so people don't get so confused about whose husband goes with who
Why did you chose Lionhearted for your husband, Lizzi?
‪Lizzi: ‬ ‪I think he has a very big, generous heart‬
He is always thinking about everyone else first
‪Esther: ‬ ‪definitely use Egghead and I'll think about calling him "Eddie"‬
‪Maude: ‬ ‪That is what I wanted this chat to convey - something about our husbands.  I know each of us think the world of our husbands, they really are heroes to us.  So while we tease about silly superhero names we do not mean it disrespectfully in any way.‬
Right, ladies?
‪Lizzi: ‬ ‪and I will think about the name too‬
right!
It's a way to remember that they really are our superheroes
‪Maude: ‬ ‪Exactly.‬
‪Lizzi: ‬ ‪awesome husbands and daddies‬
‪Esther: ‬ yes we all adore our husbands
Lizzi: For my husband's superhero alias I chose, Lemuel the Lionhearted Legend. The name he will go by in this blog, Lemuel, is Hebrew and means "devoted to God or belonging to God". And the superhero name reminds me that he is the best earthly example my boys can look up to- legendary! Hehehe
