I leave for Germany in a few days so you can tell from last weeks blog and this one that I am gearing up and getting excited for my trip!!
My favourite castle in Germany (usually - when I separate it like that I think of all the other castles we visited and think, Maybe that one's my favourite instead!) was Hohenzollern Castle.
This is the tower at Hohenzollern Castle outside of Stuttgart. We visited this castle many times because it was so close. My favourite thing about this castle was the road that wound around and around through several tunnels and along several walls - you knew it was planned for defense.
This is Hohenzollern castle from the courtyard. Pretty pictures of the outside of the castle can be found at their website at http://www.burg-hohenzollern.com/startpage.html. None of my pictures of the entire castle from outside were very good, I'm afraid.
This is the view sitting in one of the windows in the several feet thick outer walls at Hohenzollern.
This is a picture of me with a cool tapestry at a B&B we stayed at in FΓΌssen. I included this picture (in my mostly about Hohenzollern castle post) because I felt like there should be one picture of a person instead of just castles... I have always been particularly interested in tapestries. I inherited a loom from my grandmother and have made quite a few rugs on it - but I would love to learn to weave tapestries too!
