Sisters chat (crazy kids)

Esther:  Well, I thought we would talk about our kids since we all have them :)First question: what is the most embarrassing thing your child (or children) have done in public? ;)
My little man is still fairly young but we have managed to have our share of embarrassing moments
Lizzi: I can't think of anything embarrassing right now! I know I am probably jinxing myself, but my oldest is pretty reserved in public. Maybe with my second when he's a little older! :)
Maude:  We went to Chick-fil-A one day and Milton was really tired (we'd been swimming and shopping hard all morning!) - we should have just headed home.  Anyway, he wanted to walk across the parking lot holding my hand not his father's hand and he wouldn't stop crying!   He was so upset and every time we tried to shush him he only got more upset an consequently louder.  Poor little guy he wasn't throwing a fit about wanting a Happy Meal or anything just about wanting to hold his mom's hand.  It was sweet (in a way) but we ended up leaving and putting him down for a nap.  That'll teach us to EVER go out to eat with such tired kids!!

Esther:  When Bug was little, I was nursing him in public (we were on a Army base) I was covered and some people were walking by. Nobody could tell I was nursing unless they got close enough. I saw a few Soldiers walking by and one was smiling as he saw I had an itty baby then he started coming closer as if to say "aww that is a cute baby" or "can I see him?"I was nursing him in public (we were on a Army base) I was covered and some people were walking by. Nobody could tell I was nursing unless they got close enough. I saw a few Soldiers walking by and one was smiling as he saw I had an itty baby then he started coming closer as if to say "aww that is a cute baby" or "can I see him?"I gave him a smile and a shrug and he kept walking! Just one of those things...

Lizzi:  I guess I had one of those with Levi. I was nursing him at the mall and the mall security guard came told me that they had nursing rooms for that. I was so embarrassed! I said, "Do you want me to go now?" And he told me that I could stay since I started.
 Maude:  Funny!
Lizzi:  It was so weird. I don't know why he felt like he had to tell me that at that moment,
but a little later an older sceurity guard came up and said that the other guy was new
and that it was totally fine to nurse there

Maude:  They sure were comfortable walking up and talking to you Liz!  Did anyone else drop by to chat?

Lizzi:  I guess my nursing had been an embarrassing moment for the first guard! But I was so relieved when the older man came up. He was so nice.
So true, Maude!
haha, no!
Esther:  ahh! isn't that always horrifying!
Lizzi:  It was so weird. I don't know why he felt like he had to tell me that at that moment
 Esther:  That was very nice
 Lizzi:  I know!
Maude:  Ohh - I had to nurse Aurelien at a German airport and he kept pulling down the blanket because he wasn't used to it!  I was fully uncovered a couple of times.  Thankfully in Europe that is not as big of a deal to them but it was still mortifying to me!
Lizzi: haha! Nursing stories are funny! But at least most people are gracious about it
Esther:  Are we ready for question #2?
Maude:  One more!  Now Milton likes to either
 Esther:  Love one more ;)
Maude:  open the stall door in the bathroom so everyone can see me or
 Lizzi:  AHH!
Maude:  peer under the walls to see if anyone else is going to the bathroom!
He's gotten some shouts!
Lizzi:  I guess I have to be prepared for those soon too!
Maude:  From me and other people
 Lizzi:  haha
Maude:  He just looks around and says, "What?"
        Esther:  That is horrible!
Doesn't understand the big deal, I guess
Lizzi:  I wonder if Maeva will?
 Maude:  I sure hope not!!
Lizzi:  You think it's a boy thing and their lack of modesty?
Maude:  Probably - he'll happily pee outside so what is the use of doors?
on stalls?
Esther:  Oh the things kids do! But we still love 'em ;)
Esther:  So, next question.

What is your kid(s) favorite character? and is it driving you crazy? haha

Lizzi:  Esther has heard me talk about this!
We are all about Barney right now
It IS cute to see him laughing with the characters ("baby Bops, Funny, Mom") and sing along with them
Maude:  Maeva doesn't watch movies yet (thankfully!)
Lizzi:  And I don't think I need to answer if it drives me crazy! haha
Yeah we started at 2.
I don't let him watch very long, but we are doing more than I probably intended before
Maude:  Milton's favourite was White Christmas for the longest time but our VCR is dying!  So now he likes Oliver & Company (which has Billy Joel as the lead voice nd singer) which I don't mind.  He also likes Thomas.
me:  *sorry had an diaper emergency
Maude:  I haven't let him watch Barney or Cars or Toy Story or Bob the Builder - anything I think will get on my nerves hasn't been an option - but as his world broadens and he meets other kids I won't have as much control soon.
It's neat to see them understanding and being entertained though isn't it, Liz?
Esther: I am not quite at the "characters" stage yet with my little Bug but I know it is just around the corner
Maude:  It is fun to hear Milton telling about a part that he remembers.  He gets so excited about the story!
Lizzi:  It is! And while I see the importance of high limitation because of addiction, It is cool to see how much they understand!

yeah!

Maude:  They start recognizing characters early!  In the beginning I only allowed Winnie the Pooh and Thomas in the house and I let granparents know.
Esther: I am hoping my little man is a Winnie the Pooh fan!

Lizzi:  Yeah, they recognize characters before they even see a show or know about it!
Esther: Which brings me to my last question I am not sure we have time for...
Yeah, the classic pooh for sure!
