Welcome! We are four sisters, four out of ten children who grew up in a bustling home filled with love. We are spread across the country now, and we meet here to reconnect and reminisce. We also share our (sometimes varied) thoughts on faith, family, food, and whatever else fits our fancy! You will see guest posts by other family members on occasion. We are so glad you can journey with us!

Sisters chat about: Habits
Esther: Today I thought we'd talk about habits.
Maude: Uh oh.
Esther: bad habits, good habits, all kinds of habits!
What would you consider your own worst or most annoying habit?
Maude: Golly. This is hard! I think you shouldhave given us a heads-up about thequestions this week!!
Lizzi: I think for me it would be procrastination toward about everything
Maude: I think my biggest problem is lack of GOOD habits!
Lizzi: Would that be considered a habit?
Procrastination, I mean?
Esther: Well, one of mine is never measuring things. When you make bread it is a good idea to know how much flour is going in, ya know?
Maude: Like I need to exercise more, take vitamins better, floss more, etc.
I think procrastination could be considered a habit, Lizzi.
Esther: I also habitually eat bad when my husband is not around. Krispy kreme anyone?
Lizzi: Yeah, sweets intake is definitely a bad habit of mine
Especially with my afternoon coffee...
Maude: Sweets for me too.
Maude: But not Krispy Kreme. Yuck, doughnuts are gross!
(Yum, Lizzi!)
Lizzi: Your husband makes exceptional donuts, Maude!
Esther: Really, Maude? What about a HOT krispy kreme? I had never had one till I moved here. Changed my life (now it is full of a lot more krispy kreme!)
Maude: Hot, cold, fresh or day old - doughnuts are STILL gross!
But they do make me rhyme apparently!
Esther: Next question: what is one of your best habits?
Maude: This is like a job interview question! What is your biggest strength? Your biggest weakness? I am bad at those too!
Esther: hahaha
Maude: Hard, hard, hard...
Esther: I make my bed every morning first thing, before I brush my teeth or go to the bathroom (well, most mornings...) That has been one of the best habits I ever started.
Esther: I also randomly break out singing in public. I think a lot of people would put that in the "bad habit" category I think it belongs with the "good habits"
Maude: Drinking lots of (and mostly only) water.
Lizzi: flossing my teeth every night.. haha!
Esther: Those are great habits!
Lizzi: I also now put on eye cream and face cream (to combat those quickly approaching wrinkles!) morning and night
msther: wow! That's awesome. I wish I were that good about such things. I barely brush my hair!
Lizzi: It's sheer necessity, my dear.
Maude: I only do facial/eye creams three or four times a week. I need to get better. You are young enough Es that it is a little early to worryabout it yet.
Yeah right, Liz!
Esther: I don't know! The sooner the better I am sure
What is a good habit you have formed with your children?
Maude: Memorizing scripture
Esther: We pray with little man before naps & bedtime
Maude: My husband tells them a LOT of Bible stories and we pray throughout the day.
Lizzi: Bible time at night, with prayers and a nightly chorus of 'Turn Your Eyes Upon Jesus' before sleep
Esther: I love those ladies!
Maude: I get into troubleif we hear a siren and I don't immediately startpraying for the person!
Esther: Going on family walks is a big part of our days
Maude: Those kids are task masters!
Esther: That's great Maude!
Lizzi: Haha! That's great!
Esther: That's great Maude!
Lizzi: Haha! That's great!
We like to look at the VOM map and pray for the persecuted countries highlighted
Maude: That's great, Liz. I love that idea
Esther: It is good to hear what you all are doing and get different ideas!
Maude: (Es, add that she means "Voice of the Martyrs" in case people don't kow wht she is talking about)
Esther: Yes, I had to ask Andrew!
he knew
well, ladies that is all I have
