Welcome! We are four sisters, four out of ten children who grew up in a bustling home filled with love. We are spread across the country now, and we meet here to reconnect and reminisce. We also share our (sometimes varied) thoughts on faith, family, food, and whatever else fits our fancy! You will see guest posts by other family members on occasion. We are so glad you can journey with us!

Spring has SPRUNG... or summer?
The high in Louisville Kentucky yesterday was 88 degrees. I greeted the first day of Spring with windows closed and A.C. blaring. Is not Spring supposed to be around 65 degrees or am I crazy? (Don't answer that!) Despite the heat I LOVE spring. It is time to head back to the Zoo! I have to admit we have a pretty rockin' Zoo around here and I live less than 10 minutes from it (Score!) We spend a lot of days/evenings/mornings at the Zoo. It is also chalk-sidewalk-art season! Translation: I attempt to draw flowers with chalk on my sidewalk but give up when my 17-month-old's scribbles look better than my "flowers" (if only I were joking). On Friday we are going to attempt to plant our garden. (I do say "attempt" or "try" a lot don't I? I think that is because I am a lot like Amelia Bedlia and most of my "attempts" go a little awry. But, that is a post for another day!) I will let you all know how our garden adventures go. I am hoping for success and lots of growing veggies!
You know what I have decided my favorite thing about Spring is? The flowers, new life, and... Spring cleaning. We'll save cleaning for another day (whew!) I have become slightly obsessed with having fresh flowers in my house, I think that probably has something to do with me Mama's influence. Mom always has fresh flowers and plants everywhere. I pick a bouquet off my blooming tree out back or I buy flowers on sale at the grocery store. I have decided to plant flowers in my garden as well (Mom always does that too!) I also think flowers can add such a fresh feeling to a home and be the best decorator, unfortunately they do not last :( That is why I bought some succulents. They are basically kill proof (my kind of plant!) I only water them about once a week (you feel if the soil is damp) they do not need to be in direct sunlight, they can just sit on a shelf and chill! If you don't want to bother with fresh flowers and don't think you have a green thumb ( I don't!) I would encourage you to try a succulent. It is nice to have something green in your home and they are little to no hassle. Plus they are good looking decoration to set around. I always want something green to be around once Spring sets in, you should try it too!
