A Special Visit

Right now at my house, Gramma is visiting. We have had a wonderful time and my boys have eaten up each moment they have gotten to spend with her. I have also enjoyed the continual conversation we've filled the days with. Our thoughts may be interrupted constantly by, "Excuse me, Gramma..." or, "Ahhhhh!!" (a blood-curdling scream) but somehow we have managed to piece together where we left off and even continue on into hours and days of contented chatting.


I also managed to squeeze in a late-night date with my hubby one evening. It had been a long time since we had gone on a movie date, and even longer since we had gone to one that began at ten o'clock, and so we felt like youngsters again when we snuck away at a time when we normally would have been winding down for the night. :) We saw an action movie (Act of Valor-- very good, but definitely worth the R rating. May review it later.) and so when it got really loud I kept thinking that we needed to turn the volume down so that the boys wouldn't wake up! We had a really great time, and I think Gramma may babysit for us again this weekend so we can get another night out.

She was also here for my birthday, so that was special! She cooked my birthday dinner and made a birthday sign for me to see when I woke up. (Between her, my sweet hubby, and little guys, I think I had one of my best birthdays yet!) And she gave me a birthday book that will begin a new tradition in our family as we read it to each birthday person on their special day:

It's been a great visit with my Mama... And we still have a week to go! Hurray! :)
